Cardiac Arrest following the Epinephrine Infiltration

Abstract
|
|
|
During Shirodkar operation, epinephrine infiltration was done into the cervix of pregnant uterus of a 27-year-old woman with cervical incompetency.
She had the past history of five succesive habitual abortions due to the incompetency.
Cardiac arrest ensured immediately following the infiltration of 1:40,000 epinephrine 5cc.
Prompt cardiac resuscitation and suitable management resulted in recovery within about 5 minutes of the accident.
